From valley to the lake

This route, designed for regular cyclists, will take some of the most beautiful roads in northern Portugal. Passing through the municipalities of Vieira do Minho and Montalegre, always crossing roads with little traffic, we will cross ancestral villages, waterfalls that go down the magnificent Serra da Cabreira and Alto Barroso.

In the lands of the garrano horse and the barrosão cattle, we can appreciate the landscapes of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and its serenity.

Description of the Activity

Activity: Road Cycling

Approximate distance: 80 km

Altimetry: The activity has about 1400 meters of positive unevenness. Since the route is circular, the positive altimetry is equal to the negative. 

Expected duration of the activity: 3 to 4 hours

Difficulty level: Due to its extension, unevenness and technical level of the route, we classify this activity as being of medium level, advised to road cyclists who already have some experience/physical condition to cover distances between 50km and 100km, and with unevenness similar to the one presented.
